Spring Flowers 6

Hi Everyone! Today, I have the last of Spring Flowers card for you. For this one I used: Summer Silhouettes for the leaves, Bloomin' Marvelous for the flowers, For You for the greeting, and Best of Butterflies for the dragonfly.

You wouldn't believe all the different cards you can make with Summer Silhouettes! I am so happy this set didn't end up on the retired list. It is one of the first sets that I bought when I became a demonstrator. Certainly hasn't let me down! It has 9 different stamps for $21.95 (clear). This is one set that I would highly recommend.

Again, the orientation for this card is different. It opens from the right side, but still a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card. The base is Whisper White, layered with Regal Rose, Basic Black, then Whisper White to stamp on. The flowers are stamped in Regal Rose, the leaves are in Smoky Skate, while the dragonfly and the greeting are Black Stazon.

Spring Flowers 5

Hi Everyone! Hard to believe the week is over! Where did the time go? That's okay, bring on the weekend! It's supposed to be beautiful. Maybe my kids will go swimming again!

Today, I have for you somewhat of a different card. I have made them before, but this one is different because it doesn't open up. You actually pull the card up...  to reveal a recipe card! Totally cool right!? I haven't had a chance to print out my recipe yet. I have had numerous people ask me for my gluten free granola bar recipe, so I thought this would be a lovely way to give it out.

stampin up

So, once I print out the recipe I will adhere it to the Strawberry Slush card.

Spring Flowers 3

Hi Everyone! I guess this week is going to be about Spring Flowers! It certainly was not planned!

The inspiration for today's card came from a humming bird feeder and my love of "forget me not" flowers. Let me start at the beginning! For Christmas, my wonderful neighbour gave me a humming bird feeder. I couldn't wait for Spring, so I could put it out. That day finally came about 2 weeks ago, but I hadn't even seen one humming bird! Just today, sitting in my backyard, one flew by! So exciting! As I was sitting there, thanking God for the wonderful surprise, the idea came for the design of this card.

For this card, I changed the orientation. You do not flip this one up to open it, you open from the right hand side. Also, I only wanted a little bit of the green matting to show, so the blue would be more dominant.

So what do you think? Does it look like "forget me not's"?

Spring Flowers 2

Hi Everyone! Today, I have a similar card as yesterday. This time I was using a colour combination that Stampin' Up! made up. Of course I had to change it up a bit. It was to be Island Indigo, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Strawberry Slush, and Pool Party. I changed 1 of the colours. Instead of Pool Party, I changed it to Pistachio Pudding.

I love Spring and all the beautiful flowers, and flowering trees it brings. Around here everything is in full bloom and the temperature is fabulous! My kids even went in the pool yesterday! Pretty gum wrapper

Hi Everyone! What lovely weather we are finally having! Hope you get a chance to get out and enjoy some of it!

Today, I have for you a pretty gum wrapper. Sometimes we just want to "thank" someone, and we just need something small. Why not gum!? And you all know that gum wrappers are not the prettiest thing around! (I would have showed you the gum, but it was all finished! lol) These are so easy to make. They wouldn't take long at all.

Little book

Hi Everyone! Today, I have for you a cute little book. You can put photos in it - for a brag book, as a scratch pad - for notes or doodles, etc. I left it blank inside for you to decide what type of book it would be.

This is the cover with a belly band holding it closed. You could use ribbon instead, if you wanted.

This is it open, as you can see the pages are a zigzag fold. Once you fill these pages they can be taken out and you can replace them. The pages are not stuck to the book frame.

Envelope Photo Album

Hi everyone! Today, I have for you an envelope photo album. I made it using the Envelope Punch Board. Here are the instructions that I followed, however I changed the size and a few other things (what else is new!). Her album is 6x6 and mine is made using the measurements for a 4x4 card on the Envelope Punch Board.
stampin up

This is what the inside looks like. Each of those pages are a pocket for you to store small things in. I used the 1 inch circle punch to help open the pockets. There are 4 pockets in total. I did not embellish the inside because I am not sure if I am going to keep it or give it away.

This is the top view so that you can see, it really looks like a book.

MOJO346

Hi Everyone! Did you all have a great long weekend? It was so nice to spend time with the family!

Today, I have for you a MOJO346 card. I haven't played along for some time. The inspiration for the colours came from Stampin' Up!. They put together these colour combinations to really challenge you. I really liked these colours and when I saw the sketch from MOJO, it was a match made in heaven... okay, at my craft table really!

Here's the sketch:

And here is my card:

Matchbook Treat!

Hi Everyone! Today, I have a Matchbook that has a treat hidden inside! So cute! I am trying to come up with different little ideas to give to my customers, or even new people that I meet.

It took me a few tries to get the measurements just right. And, you might notice that I also tried to line up the slanted lines (that took a few tries, too!).

Pillow boxes

Hi Everyone! Today, I have for you Pillow boxes! And you don't even need a template to make this. They are so simple to make. The two that I made are both from the same size paper. I know hard to believe because they look so different.

The paper is the "Fresh Prints" DSP stack. They are just folded on opposite ends. The one in Real Red, could certainly have been for Valentine's Day! You could put goodies in them, jewelry, etc. Small stuff! Just another unique way to wrap and send a little gift.

Best Wishes

Hi Everyone! Today I have for you a wedding card. Well, at least that's what it looks like to me! These flowers remind me of little spring flowers, almost like "forget me nots". I really like the elegant feel of this card.

The card base is Very Vanilla. I used the Stripes Embossing folder, then the smallest Deco Label Framelits, to cut out the shape. I used a really old stamp set that just has greetings (I don't even know the name of it!). I stamped 9 Petite Petals in Night of Navy and punched them out using the matching punch. (One of the amazing things about Stampin' Up! is that everything coordinates!). Then 3 small flowers using the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch. I adhered everything using Glue Dots. Of course it wasn't complete until I added the Pearls!

M&M boxes!

Hi Everyone! A couple of weeks ago, I got a package of "Jelly Belly" jelly beans. They were yummy! I have a sweet tooth, in case you didn't know! (Actually sweet teeth!) Anyway, they came in this really cool package. As you know, I just had to recreate it! It took some time, but I did it! This one is about half the size of the "Jelly Belly" one. I would say about the same size or a little bigger than a "Nerds" box. The original size just seemed too big for what I wanted it for. I think they turned out perfectly!

For this one, I wanted a really relaxed looking bow, for it to drape down the sides.

Sunsets!

Hi Everyone! Spring is here! The trees have buds, and the tulips and daffodils are up! So exciting! It means that summer is around the corner, and that means cottage time, which means Sunsets! (we live in the city, so we don't get to see very many sunsets from here). What in the world does that have to do with stamping, well let me tell you!

I recreated a sunset using the 'Work of Art and Wetlands" stamp sets. (Oh, I can wait to go to the cottage!). I used Whisper White as my card base, layered with Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, then Whisper White to stamp on. Lately, most of my cards have had multiple layers!

First I stamped the 'sky' in Pumpkin Pie (stamped off once), then the 'sun' in So Saffron, followed by the 'water' in Marina Mist, and the 'sand' in Baked Brown Sugar. For the greeting and the birds, I used Black Stazon. I then tied Baker's Twine, 3 times around, with the knot at the front.

For this card, I changed the 'sand' colour to crumb cake. I think I like it better. Which one do you like better?

Itty Bitty Flowers!

Hi Everyone! Okay, this is the last card that I have for you that I made for my good friend. I completely CASEd this one too! At least I can admit it right!? And I used the same colours that they did! They did such a great job! I did change some things about it. I used a different Embossing folder, (not sure if the one I saw even used an embossing folder), and I added the little ribbon on the side. Other than that they are the same. I love that the little flowers from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (say that 3 times fast!) fits perfectly with this stamp set.

I used Whisper White as my card base, then layered with Old Olive (embossed with the Perfectly Polka Dots Embossing folder), Night of Navy, then Whisper White to stamp on.

The stamp set is "Thoughts and Prayers". I stamped with beautiful leaves in Old Olive and the greeting in Night of Navy. I Punched out the little flowers in Daffodil Delight, attaching them with Glue Dots. To finish it off I put Rhinestones in the centers of the flowers. Hope you like it as much as I do!

Thinking of You

Hi Everyone! This is another one that I made for my good friend. I completely CASEd this design. I thought it was just so beautiful! You could use it for a Wedding Card, Bridal Shower, Birthday, Thank You, etc! You can literally pick any colour combination that you choose!

The card base is Whisper White, layered with Crumb Cake, then another layer of Whisper White to stamp on. I punched out the flowers using the Petite Petals Punch, then I sponged the edges of the flowers to give them colour. The back ground is stamped using Daffodil Delight, Crumb Cake, Marina Mist with the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set. The center of the flowers are punched out using the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (retiring). The ribbon is Crumb Cake, and the greeting is also stamped in Crumb Cake. I used the smallest pearls for the centers of the flowers.

Thinking of You!

Hi Everyone! A couple of weeks ago a good friend ordered 5 "Sympathy" cards and 3 "Thinking of You" cards. So, for the next couple of days I am going to show you some of the cards I made for her.

This one has a Very Vanilla card base, layered with Early Espresso, then Very Vanilla to stamp on. I started with Baked Brown Sugar ink first, then Marina Mist, and finally Old Olive. I did stamp off once to get the lighter look. The Tree is stamped in Early Espresso, along with the greeting on the 7/8 cotton ribbon. I then tied an Early Espresso ribbon around the cotton to pull it all together. The ribbon is attached with glue dots.

Note card box

Hi Everyone! Today I have for you a note card box with note cards. I have wanted to make one for some time (what else is new!). I think they are so lovely! I finally figured out how to make it. This one holds 4x4 cards with matching envelopes. You could make it to fit regular size cards as well. I started to make one (that holds 4 1/4 x 5 1/2) , but haven't prettied it up yet.

Hi Everyone! Today I have a "Love and Sympathy" card for you. This is one of the ones that I made for my friends order. It's clean and simple yet very elegant at the same time.

I used Very Vanilla as my card base, which I embossed with the Stripes Embossing Folder (which is retiring!). Then I used a framelit (from another company, shhh!) in the shape of a  large label with Marina Mist cardstock. Next I coloured my stamp with Old Olive for the stems and leaves, and Marina Mist for the flower. Stamped it on Very Vanilla, and I added the greeting with Black Stazon. Then I cut it out using the Deco Labels Collection Framelits. Wrapped my Marina Mist ribbon around it and adhered everything with Dimensionals. I also added little pearls.
