Christmas Advent Calendar

Hi Everyone! Today I have a project for you, a Christmas Advent Calendar!

I had a lot of fun designing and make it. I wanted something that wouldn't take up too much room, but would be able to hold small goodies for at least three people (my hubby likes chocolates too!), and that I had to use what I already had. I couldn't go out and buy new things. It also had to be from one sheet. I didn't want to glue a bunch of pieces together. Talk about a challenge at first! This is what I came up with. What do you think?

advent calendar stampin up

Supplies: Trim the Tree DSP (4 1/2 x 6 1/2), clothes pegs, elastic string, Quickcuts (for the numbers), crimper (for the bottom of the bags), circle punches, star thinlits from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlit, fast fuse, and a picture frame (29x21 Ikea). I love how it turned out!!!

advent calendar stampin up

They look like little chip bags!

I made a video so you can make one too! If you do, I would love to see it!

The finished size of each little pouch is 3 x 5 1/2. Hope you like it!

Thanks for stopping by, if you have any questions let me know!

Happy Stamping!

Lovely as a Tree, White Christmas and Woodland Embossing folder

Hi Everyone! Today's card is my 2nd Christmas card that I have made this season!! (don't forgot to sign up for my Christmas card Stamp-A-Stack, click on the events button for more info).

Right now on You Tube you can find all sorts of tutorials on how make a card like this. First you stamp your ink onto the embossing folder (the sky colour), then on the other side of the embossing folder you stamp your trees. I know this doesn't make much sense until you watch a video. Sorry, I have not made one yet! Then you run it through your Big Shot, and it comes out with the trees and the sky already there! So cool! Thank you to all you talented people out there that think up these amazing ideas!

lovely as a tree stampin up, woodland embossing, white Christmas

Then I stamped the little Cardinals from the White Christmas stamp set and coloured them in. The colours are Real red, Soft Sky, Old Olive and Crumb Cake was lightly sponged across the trees to give them life. Hope you like it!

Thanks for stopping by, if you have any questions let me know!

Wild About You, Express Yourself and Gorgeous Grunge!

Hi Everyone! Today's card is a baby one. I know I haven't made one of these in a really long time. The inspiration for this came from looking through the annual catalog. If you have a moment or two,  I would strongly suggest going back through it and really looking at the projects people have made. There are lots of fabulous ideas in there! (Don't have a catalog and live in Canada, let me know so I can send one to you!)

Here it is! Isn't it cute!!! I absolutely LOVE this stamp set. It has been retired for some time, but it is still my favorite for young kids and new babies.

wild about you stampin up, express yourself, gorgeous grunge

Hard to believe that I used 3 stamp sets on this card: Wild About You, Express Yourself and Gorgeous Grunge. I used Pear Pizzazz as the main colour and accented it with DSP. Unfortunately, I don't remember the name of the DSP, it has been retired too! Maybe I should have called this post All Retired! Hope you like it!

Thanks for stopping by, if you have any questions let me know!

Moon Lake and Wetlands

Hi Everyone! Today's card is a simple yet elegant Thank You card.

I didn't want to colour this in, I wanted one colour only. Sort of like an old fashioned feeling. I absolutely love the layered look. To me it looks framed, and finished.

The layers are Baked Brown Sugar, Basic Black and Very Vanilla. The edges of the Very Vanilla are sponged in Baked Brown sugar. Hope you like it!

Garden in Bloom and Petal Potpourri

Hi Everyone! Today's card is about making someone feel special on their Birthday or any time at all! Sometimes we need a reminder of how special we are to someone or that someone is thinking about us!

garden in bloom stampin up, petal potpourri

The colours are Mossy Meadow and Delightful Dijon. For some reason the flower looks really orange in the first photo.

garden in bloom stampin up, petal potpourri

Again, I wanted dimension to my card, I guess that is no surprise now is it!? The flower has a few dimensionals under it and I also added one for the center of the flower. Hope you like it!

Thanks for stopping by, if you have any questions let me know!

Sheltering Tree and Celebrate today

Hi Everyone! Today's card is a fall Birthday card. Don't you just love the colours of fall? Here in Southern Ontario the leaves change to the most beautiful colours. Right now there is a beautiful Maple Tree that I can see from my window that have these colours of leaves.

sheltering tree stampin up, celebrate today

The colours are Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze, and Crushed Curry.

I wanted more dimension to the card so I made sure that the Happy Birthday Banner was curled. In order to keep it that way, I put glue dots under the parts that aren't raised (make sense?). So it looks like wave.

Flowering Flourishes and Express Yourself

Hi Everyone! Today's card is all about the beautiful Flowering Flourishes stamp set. So happy this one didn't get retired, unfortunately Express Yourself is.

For some reason my lighting on this card isn't quite right. I took a couple of pictures, but I still couldn't get the colours to come through. They are Island Indigo, and I used a silver foil sheet.

The Flowering Flourishes is embossed with silver embossing powder, along with the sentiment. And the flowers are from the retired Boho punch (I hate giving up a good punch, especially when I really like it!). You could use any small flower punch that you have. Then finished it off with some rhinestones.

Woodland and Papillon Potpourri

Hi Everyone! Today's card is all about butterflies and the amazing new Woodland embossing folder.

Inspiration for this card came from all the Monarchs migrating to Mexico for the winter. This time of year you will see them crossing the great lakes or at the shores, hiding in trees waiting for great weather to cross. Very magical.

The colours are Soft Sky, Whisper White, and Pumpkin Pie (I also used my sponge dabber with Crumb Cake and just went lightly over the trees, to give them more dimension). All the butterflies are embossed with basic black embossing powder, then coloured them with my blender pen in Pumpkin Pie. Then punched them out using the small butterfly punch.

I tried to put a greeting/sentiment on the front but it just didn't work. No worries, that's why you have an inside! This card could be used for any occasion really; Birthday, Congratulations, Encouragement, Sympathy, etc.

Thanks for stopping by, and if you have any questions let me know.

Happy Stamping!

A Bugs and Kisses Birthday

Hi Everyone! Just wanted to say "thanks" for stopping by and visiting my little blog. Hope you like it here and find lots of inspiration and that you come back often! I would love to hear from you, so don't be shy.

Today's card, is using one of my favorite retired sets (I know what you're thinking, that I have a lot of those...well maybe!) Bugs and Kisses. I think it is prefect for little ones. You could always use this layout with another stamp set, it doesn't have to bugs and kisses. I made one similar, you can find it here.

For the insects, I only cut out the blue ones and added dimensionals to them. The colours are Pacific Point and Old Olive.

Thanks for stopping by, if you have any questions let me know!

Garden in Bloom Birthday

Hi Everyone! How are we today? Fall has finally hit us this week. It's freezing here, I actually had to turn on the furnace! And everyone's sick!! Moving on...

Today's card is using the stamp set Garden in Bloom with the beautiful Brick Wall embossing folder. Don't you just love fall colours! I used Elegant Eggplant, Cherry Cobbler, Cajun Craze and Always Artichoke (the bee is Crushed Curry).

garden in bloom stampin up

I cut out all the flowers and added some dimensionals to them. The Cherry Cobbler one has 2 dimensionals on top of one another, while the other flowers only got one. I wanted that flower to stand out a little more so that the other ones could fit under (make sense?).

garden in bloom stampin up

For the brick wall I took my sponge dabber with crumb cake and lightly rubbed across the bricks. I didn't want too much colour on them, just enough to give it some dimension. Hope you like it!

Thanks for stopping by, if you have any questions let me know!

The Open Sea meets Happy Everything!

Hi everyone! Today's card is all about soft sky and crumb cake. I absolutely just love these two colours together! I mean just look at them!

open sea and happy everything stampin up

I stamped the anchor in crumb cake and cut it out. It didn't take long. Then I wrapped some baker's twine around it and popped it up with dimensionals. Actually, I used dimensionals on everything!

the open sea and happy everything stampin up

I know the stamp set Happy Everything has been retired for some time now, but I really love the font they used. It just makes you feel happy! You certainly could use this card for any occasion. Whatever makes you happy (yep, pun intended)! Plus we all have our favorite stamp sets that we just can't part with, no matter how long they have been retired. It's good to get them out every once in awhile!

Thanks for stopping by!

Garden in Bloom

Hi Everyone! Today's card is all about the new set Garden in Bloom. It has 20 stamps in this set! Oh, the possibilities are endless. I was also really impressed with how easy they were to line up, since they are a two step stamp if you want.

garden in bloom stampin up

And these colours together (Lost Lagoon, Soft Sky, Pear Pizzazz, and Smoky Slate) are awesome! Okay, I'll be honest, I REALLY like the colour Lost Lagoon! Weird since my go to colours are usually found in the brights family.

I think the new washi tape punch made for a prefect tag on this card.

Best Thoughts

Hi everyone! Today's card is from the hostess set Best Thoughts and Basic Butterflies (sentiment). I absolutely love the flower, okay I like all the stamps in this set.

I started off by embossing the flower and the butterfly using basic black embossing powder, so that I could colour them with my blender pen. The colours are a little softer when you use the blender pen which is what I was going for.

The flower is Island Indigo and Pool Party and Pear Pizzazz for the stems and leaves, while the butterfly is Melon Mambo.

I think the pearls add an elegant touch. You can't see them very well in the photo below, but there are 4 on the card with one in the sentiment.

Sprinkles of Life

Hi everyone! Today's card is a Birthday card, that I made it into a shaker box. Boy, I haven't made one of these in a really long time. I had forgotten all the steps. I love how it turned out!

The colours are basic grey and pacific point. Don't you just love it when two different stamp sets come together and make one really great card! That's what happened when I put Sprinkles of Life and Celebrate Today together. (The stars are from the treat bag framelit.)

So sorry!

Hi everyone! It's been forever hasn't it! Sorry about that. Summer just kinda snuck up on me and the kids were home, etc. Anyway, enough of the blah blah blah! I'm back, so that is all that matters!

Today's card for you is a sad one! My really good neighbour had to let her beloved cat go to animal heaven the other day. So sad! She had her for about 12 years.

So sorry stampin up

The cat stamp and the paw print are not Stampin' Up!. They were the only ones that I have with a cat.

Normally I would have given her flowers or a baked good of some kind, but I just didn't have anything. My wonderful daughter suggested that I give her homemade potato chips.

She absolutely loved them! Made her day (which of course we were happy about)!
