Happy Papa's Day!

Hi Everyone! I decided to get on the bandwagon and start making my Father's Day cards. Mine are a little different as some need to be in french and some in english.

So far I have made only one in french.

Good thing I have more time to make them! lol

Father's day, graffiti

I stamped the sentiment first (the sentiment is not from Stampin' Up!) on the Whisper White, then I embossed it. I didn't want the sentiment to have the brick mortar lines running through it.

I brayered the Brick Wall Embossing Folder with Smokey Slate, then ran it through the Big Shot. That's what gives it the real Brick Wall look.

Then I stamped using Gorgeous Grunge to make the graffiti.

Father's Day, Bonne FĂȘte des peres, graffiti

Don't you just love the graffiti look?

Cool eh? and only 2 accessories for this card!

Whisper White
Basic Grey

Inks:
Memento Black
Old Olive
Pacific Point
Pumpkin Pie
Smokey Slate

Stamps:

Retired Stamp Day!

Hi Everyone! I think once a week I will post a card that I have made using retired stamp sets.

(I think I need to come up with a better name though!) lol

What do you think? .....        Would you be okay with that? ....  Is there a particular stamp set that you would like me to make a card for? ....

I know we all have stamp sets that we just absolutely love and can't part with. I know, I'm one of those people!

Here is one of those sets!

Christmas Cards 2

Hi Everyone! This is the second day of me showing you some of the Christmas cards that we made. Have you liked them so far?

For this one we used the new Sleigh Ride Edgelits. Love it!! Went home that night and bought it myself!! So simple, yet so elegant, especially with the vellum paper added. The greeting/sentiment is from To You and Yours Too.

This is one of my favorites as well. I love the Brick Wall Embossing Folder, the Hearth and Home Thinlit, and the cat from Festive Fireside Framelit. Ok, I love it all!

For the snow on the brick wall and above the window frame, we used the new fine tip glue pen, then poured Dazzling Diamonds over.

Thanks for stopping by, if you have any questions let me know!

Inked Embossed Folders

Hi Everyone! Today's cards are all about the technique - Inked Embossed Folders. I have 3 different cards to share with you using this really cool technique.

For this technique you ink up your brayer then run it over one side of your embossing folder. Usually the top side of the folder. Then you run it through your Big Shot (or whatever you use). When it comes out, the ink is transferred to the shallow part of your embossed piece.

Same technique, yet 3 completely different cards! To take this even further you could always sponge the raised part of each image, to give it more detail. I did that on this card, this one and this one.

Which one is your favorite? I think I will have to go with the Woodland one. I absolutely love the Soft Sky in the back ground. I love how peaceful it is.

Garden in Bloom Birthday

Hi Everyone! How are we today? Fall has finally hit us this week. It's freezing here, I actually had to turn on the furnace! And everyone's sick!! Moving on...

Today's card is using the stamp set Garden in Bloom with the beautiful Brick Wall embossing folder. Don't you just love fall colours! I used Elegant Eggplant, Cherry Cobbler, Cajun Craze and Always Artichoke (the bee is Crushed Curry).

garden in bloom stampin up

I cut out all the flowers and added some dimensionals to them. The Cherry Cobbler one has 2 dimensionals on top of one another, while the other flowers only got one. I wanted that flower to stand out a little more so that the other ones could fit under (make sense?).

For the brick wall I took my sponge dabber with crumb cake and lightly rubbed across the bricks. I didn't want too much colour on them, just enough to give it some dimension. Hope you like it!
