Sunsets!

Hi Everyone! Spring is here! The trees have buds, and the tulips and daffodils are up! So exciting! It means that summer is around the corner, and that means cottage time, which means Sunsets! (we live in the city, so we don't get to see very many sunsets from here). What in the world does that have to do with stamping, well let me tell you!

I recreated a sunset using the 'Work of Art and Wetlands" stamp sets. (Oh, I can wait to go to the cottage!). I used Whisper White as my card base, layered with Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, then Whisper White to stamp on. Lately, most of my cards have had multiple layers!

First I stamped the 'sky' in Pumpkin Pie (stamped off once), then the 'sun' in So Saffron, followed by the 'water' in Marina Mist, and the 'sand' in Baked Brown Sugar. For the greeting and the birds, I used Black Stazon. I then tied Baker's Twine, 3 times around, with the knot at the front.

For this card, I changed the 'sand' colour to crumb cake. I think I like it better. Which one do you like better?

    1. Thanks Deb! Crumb cake is my favorite too. It reminds me of my mom, who loved sunsets!

  2. Gosh this is just fabulous - I found it on Pinterest. My card to be posted on my little blog tomorrow is based very firmly on this gorgeous card (tee, hee, I botched the sentiment though so had to do some chopping and punching - which means mine is a teensy weensy bit different.)

So chick, I'll be posting my version on my blog as said, with a link back to you - and of course won't enter it into any challenges. Thank you so much for the inspiration Marsha!!
