Teacher's Gifts

Hi Everyone! The end of the school year is fast approaching (last day is tomorrow!), so that means that my schedule will change too. I will still be writing blog posts, but just not everyday. I am sure you will be busy too, spending time with your kids, grandkids, vacationing, etc. Thanks for understanding!

Today, is about Teacher's gifts. They do so much for me and my kids, we just wanted to say "thank you". So, I made them Post-it note holders with pens. I have blogged about this project before and even have a tutorial on how to make them. You can find that here.

stampin up

I made 6 altogether. Two each of the same style, but different colours. Which one is your favorite?

stampin up

You can't tell in the photos, but the actual Post-it note paper is the same colour as the flowers. Example: That pink rose one has pink Post-it note paper inside and the orange has orange paper. All matchy, matchy!

I wrote a little note in each one, for each of the teachers. Saying "thank you" for all they do and have a great summer.

Here they are all wrapped up and ready to hand out. (sorry about the photo, I remembered to take a picture just before we had to leave!) I love the way they turned out. These little cellophane bags are from Sale-A-Bration way back in January 2014. Absolutely love them. We don't carry them anymore but, we do have plain cellophane bags in 3 different sizes and we also have (we = Stampin' Up!) really cute Chevron and Polka Dot paper gift bags that would work too.

Hope the teacher's like them as much as I do!

Photo Book/Scratch Pad

Hi Everyone! Today, I have for you something a little different. A 3D project! Unfortunately, I can not take credit for this one, however I did modify it to suit my needs. I know what you're thinking! What else is new! (Just so you know I also modify recipes too!)

Back to my project. You can find the video for it here. She uses 12 x 12 sheets of paper for the inside. I only have 8 1/2 x 11, so I adjusted my measurements.

The one on the left I am giving away to a friend of mine who just got married. Hoping she might put some wedding photos in it! It's like a brag book of sorts. It will fit in your purse.

As you can see, it is a mini book. The best thing about it is that if you fill up the pages, you can always make more to add or take these ones out and put new ones in.

Petite Petals Birthday Card

Hi Everyone! I can't believe I haven't posted anything since last week! Do I still have any followers? I can't believe that it is already the end of the week! Where in the world did the time go? Enough of me babbling on!

Today's card, is a Birthday card that a friend of mine request for her mom's 75th Birthday. (I believe it's a surprise celebration, shhh!) The colours for her party are a lavender. The closest that I have is Perfect Plum.

The card base is Whisper White, layered with Perfect Plum, then Whisper White (which, I embossed using the Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder). The leaf stems were cut using the old Sizzix machine thing (Old Olive is the colour of the paper). Next, I stamped one of the flowers from the Petite Petals (love this set!) in Perfect Plum. Punched out the flowers, using the matching punch. For the small Perfect Plum flowers, I used the now retired Itty Bitty Punch Pack. The little butterfly is from the Papillon Potpourri set, which also has a matching punch. The greeting is from Simply Sketched, stamped in Perfect Plum.

Gently Falling!

Hi Everyone! Today's, card is a 'Thinking of You' card. However, since I didn't put a greeting on the front, you could make it for whatever occasion you want.

I absolutely love the Gently Falling stamp set. It reminds me so much of Fall/Autumn here in Canada. It is so beautiful when the leaves change colours. I know what you're thinking, its finally really nice weather and I'm thinking about Fall - stop that! Back to the card.

If you don't have this set, I highly recommend it. Unfortunately, it is retiring! Well worth your money to invest in this one. You get 12 stamps in the set. Outline of 4 leaves, Middle of 4 leaves, plus outline and middle of an acorn, and outline and middle of the Maple Leaf seeds (we call them helicopters).

Anniversary

Hi Everyone! Today's, card is an Anniversary card. I have had this stamp set forever! I just can't part with it. You know, that stamp set that has been retired for about 10 years, but you love it so much, you don't want to get rid of it. That's this one for me!

The card is going to a family member who is celebrating their 17th wedding Anniversary. Her main flower was the sunflower, so I thought this would be fitting for the occasion.

This stamp set has 4 different flowers, 1 for each season. I coloured it in using my blender pen, but now that Stampin' Up! has 'Blendabilities Markers' they would be prefect for this stamp set!

Gift Card Holders

Hi Everyone! Today, I have something a little different for you. A Gift Card Holder. It's my nephews Birthday later this week, and he is getting to that age where you have no idea what to get him, so this is the perfect solution.

I have made several different ones over the years, but this one is by far my favorite. I can't take credit for it, I found it here. You can make 3 out of one sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock! And it literally takes only about 10 minutes to make.

As you can see, I have made them for all different occasions. Plus you can reuse them too!

Best of Butterflies

Hi Everyone! Today's, card is a wedding card. One of my friends is getting married this Saturday! Exciting isn't it! I wanted something elegant for them. I had made another card, but I like this one much better. I hope they do too!

This Butterfly is from the stamp set "Best of Butterflies" unfortunately you can't get it any more. Absolutely one of my favorite butterflies! However, we have another really great butterfly set called Papillon (butterfly in French) Potpourri. It comes with 7 stamps, 3 large butterflies, 3 small butterflies and antennae. Stampin' Up! also made 2 punches that coordinate with both sizes of Butterflies (no cutting them out!). Totally awesome!

Gorgeous Grunge and Gently Falling

Hi Everyone! Today's card reminds me of Canada Day! Probably because of the colours that I chose: Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White, and Sahara Sand. Also, the Maple Leaf stamp from the Gently Falling stamp set is so Canadian! I just had to make another one with "O'Canada".

stampin up

See what I mean? It goes perfectly, doesn't it? I will be sending this one to my niece in Australia.

Summer Silhouettes

Hi Everyone! Sorry, for not posting in a while. The weather here was so gorgeous, that I just needed to spend time with my family! Hope you don't mind!

Today, I have for you 2 cards using the same stamp sets: Summer Silhouettes and Perfectly Penned (retiring).  Did I tell you how much I really LOVE Summer Silhouettes!? Inspiration for the cards came from spending time outdoors with my family.

I used the same colours for both of the cards. (I'll list everything that I used at the bottom of this post). This one opens to the right.

stampin up

This one opens from the bottom. It reminds me of a bouquet of Summer flowers.

Here they are together. As you can see, they both are completely different cards, yet I used the same stamp sets.

Gorgeous Grunge

Hi Everyone! Today's card is one I found on Pinterest. I absolutely love the simplicity and elegance of it. I made 2 versions, one with Whisper White and one with Very Vanilla. I am not sure which one I like better. What do think? They both have a completely different feel to them when you look at them separately.

stampin up

This card base is Whisper White. The back ground stamp is Gorgeous Grunge in: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Baked Brown Sugar (sounds like I'm baking something!). Best of Butterflies: Early Espresso. Express Yourself (greeting retired): Early Espresso. The little flowers are punched (Strawberry Slush) using one from the Itty Bitty Punch pack (retired). I did round the corners of the cards using my wonderful Envlope Punch Board.

stampin up

This card base is Very Vanilla. I used all the same stamps and ink colours (same as above). I just changed the colour of the flower to Marina Mist.

So, which one do you like better? They are the same, yet very different! If you have any questions, please send me a message! stampingwithmarsha@gmail.com

Birthday Bookmark!

Hi Everyone! Today, I have for you something really cool! Okay, I think it's cool! A card that has a detachable bookmark! Cool or what? A card with double purpose! Love it!

As you can see, the card is a regular size (4 1/4 x 5 1/2) when closed. Perfect for mailing!

stampin up

The bookmark is detachable, because I used a perforated edge. The bookmark measures 2 inches. That's it with the pretty ribbon attached to the top, folded into the card.

stampin up

Here is the card laid out flat. The inside of the card, where you would sign your name and a little message, is the other side. When laid out flat it measures 5 1/2 x 10 1/2 inches.

Stampin' Up! Supplies:

Paper: Pear Pizzazz, DSP, Very Vanilla

Inks: Black Stazon, Pear Pizzazz, Soft Sky, Crumb Cake

Bookmarks!

Hi Everyone! Today, I have for you some bookmarks. I love homemade gifts, and this one is really easy and simple to do. Plus, I always have a lot of different books on the go, so I need bookmarks! I know, with technology today we have e-readers, but it is nice every once in awhile to open up a book with paper pages. It is also really nice to get something handmade for a gift! :)

Anyway, back to my project, bookmarks! I have 2 different styles for you. One is using the Scallop Tag Topper Punch, and one is multiple layering.

I really like the layering look. Looks very classic to me. For this one I used: Whisper White, Chocolate Chip and Pistachio Pudding for the layers. The stamp sets are: Flower Shop, Petite Petals, Gorgeous Grunge and Work of Art. The inks are: Chocolate Chip and Pistachio Pudding (makes you kinda hungry!)

stampin up

For this one I wanted to try the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. I really like the way this one turned out too. I used: Perfect Plum, and Whisper White for the base. The stamp set is: Too Kind. The inks are: Smoky Slate for the splatter, Pistachio Pudding for the stem, Perfect Plum for the flower, and Black Stazon for the greeting.
