Flower Shop

Today, I have for you a simple, yet elegant card. I made it for our neighbour. They had us over for dinner the other night and she made all sorts of extra yummy things just for me! (I have Celiac Disease). Anyway, we both love daisies and the colours yellow and blue. So I thought this was just perfect for her and for this beautiful Spring day!

Day 6, Last day of Project Week!

Wow, that was a fast week! How did everyone enjoy the projects that I had for you?

Today I have for you something a little different. It's called "Card in a box". I made 2 versions. I forgot to take a picture of it folded flat. It fits into a standard invitation envelope. Pretty darn cute aren't they!? I know I wouldn't mind receiving one in the mail on my Birthday! I have also seen lots of different ideas out in computer land. Some did the Nativity scene, Valentine's Day, Easter, St. Patrick's Day, just to name a few. They were all so beautiful. I took a few elements from the ones that I liked and put them into my card. That's what I love about paper crafts, so versatile.

DAY 5

Welcome to Day 5 of my Project week! I hope some of these projects are helping you to get your creative juices flowing to make something pretty!

Today I have for you a Tea Bag Holder. I know what most of you are thinking, "you don't drink tea, or anything hot for that matter!" No, I don't but some of my friends, neighbours and customers do. (I had to borrow the tea bags from a neighbour! Don't worry she will be getting this little beauty for her trouble.)

This would make a really cute Birthday gift for a co-worker or friend, Mother's Day gift, Get Well Wishes, Thinking of You, Teachers gift, School Bus Driver, etc. Just a few ideas for you! I got the idea from here.

Project week, DAY 4

Welcome to Day 4 of Project week! I hope you have been enjoying all the projects.

Today I have something really cute. I know, I know, I always say that, but it's true! I think I really like this one because I used really bright colours. (I am so ready for Spring like temperatures, how about you!?) This one is so easy to make too! (tutorial below!) It's a prefect little gift for teachers, bus drivers, neighbours, friends, just because, etc. Remember to change the colours and stamp set to suit your needs!

stampin up

See, I told you it was cute! It's a Post-it Note holder with a pen! I found the pens and the Post-it notes at the Dollar Store (the Post-it notes might not be as thick as regular Post-it notes).

Stampin' Up! Supplies:

Paper: Crumb Cake (120953) 3 1/4 x 7 3/8, Melon Mambo (115320) 2 7/8 x 3 1/8, Whisper White (100730) 2 3/4 x 3

Stamp Set: Flower Shop (c130942)

Accessories: Sticky Strip (104294), Dimensionals (104430), Pansy Punch (130698), Pearls (119247), Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder (117335), Simply Scored Scoring Tool (122334)

Lets get started!

1. Take your Crumb Cake cardstock, score it in the horizontal position at 3 1/8, 3 1/2, 3 7/8.

2. Fold it along the scored edges. It should look like this with one side longer than the other.
3. Now you are going to make two cuts into the V, just up to the score line. This is the piece that will hold your pen.

 4. It should look like this.

5. On your work surface place the longer side down (or to the right). The longer side is the one where we put the Post-it notes. (make sense?)
6. Now you are going to adhere Sticky Strip to the small section right beside the longer side. See photo above.

7. Adhere it to the longer side. It should now look like this. Don't worry were almost done!

8. Now adhere Sticky Strip to the back of your Post-it notes.

9. Last step before you get to embellish it! Adhere the Post-it notes on the inside. Voila!~

 10. Now it's time to decorate the outside.

Thanks for stopping by, if you have any questions or comments please feel free to leave them below. You can shop 24/7 by using the shopping cart button on the right hand side. Remember only a few more days of Sale-A-Bration! Hurry and get your free stuff!

Project week, DAY 3

Welcome to Day 3 of Project Week! I hope you have been enjoying them so far. I have loved making every single one!
Today I have for you a "Matchbox". It is much bigger than the ones that used to hold real matches (and a lot prettier, and safer!). Again, this one used the Envelope Punch Board. If you don't have it, I suggest that you get one! They can do so much more than just make pretty envelopes! So far, all 3 projects have been made using the Envelope Punch Board (maybe I should have called this week Envelope Punch Board!).

This one is a sympathy card, but you could always change the colours and the greeting to suit your needs. Could make a beautiful Spring Birthday card, especially after this really long Winter!

Hard to believe another week has gone by! That means another MOJO Monday Sketch. So, it isn't really Monday, that's just when they post their new sketch for the week. By the time I get to see the sketch and make my card, it is a couple of days later. Does it really matter? I didn't think so either! As long as I have a card to share with you, all is good in the world, right!? Here is the sketch.

Here is what I came up with. Don't you just love Spring! All the wonderful colours, and the beautiful flowers that are coming out after a REALLY long Winter's nap. Where were we, oh ya, my card! Sorry about, I love Spring and the bright colours!

I am starting to think that Spring is never going to get here, how about you? Here in Southern Ontario we still have some snow on the ground, freezing cold temperatures and it was snowing earlier. Hard to believe that Spring is only 2 days away! Enough Winter talk!
Let's talk about something more pleasent, like cards!

Triple Time Stamping (Tutorial)

stampin up

Today I have for you a tutorial on how to make this lovely card. In the card world they call it Triple Time Stamping. I know what you're thinking, this card is way too hard. Actually it's really easy. Let's get started!

First you will need these supplies:

Stamp Sets:
Summer Silhouettes (c 126447)
Flower Shop (c 130942)
Simply Sketched (c 129672)

Inks:
Garden Green (126973)
Crushed Curry (131173)

Paper:
1 - Whisper White Cardstock (100730) 2 x 3 1/4
1 - Garden Green Cardstock  (102584) 2 1/4 x 3 1/2
1 - Whisper White Cardstock  3 x 4 1/4
1 - Garden Green Cardstock  3 1/4 x 4 1/2
1 - Whisper White Cardstock  4 x 5 1/4
1 - Garden Green Cardstock  8 1/2 x 5 1/2

Accessories:
White Baker's Twine (124262)
White Designer Button (130031)
Stampin' Dimensionals (104430)
Pearl Basic Jewels (119247)
Black Stazon Ink (101406) For the Greeting

1. This is what the Whisper White Cardstock should look like.

2. Now you need to put a LITTLE bit of adhesive on the back of the 2 smaller Whisper White Cardstock pieces. You only want a little because you will have to remove them later.

3. Now you are going to layer them like this photo. (Hard to photograph white paper!) They need to be centered on top of one another.

4. Now the really fun part! Stamping the leaf images on to all 3 pieces of Whisper White Cardstock. Randomly stamp where you want the leaves to go. Always remember that it is more pleasing to the eye if you stamp an odd amount.

5. Now for the flower, same as the leaf, wherever you want them. (Remember odd numbers!) We are almost done! See, it wasn't that hard, was it!?

6. Now you take the Whisper White Cardstock layers apart and you adhere them to the Garden Green matts that you previously cut.

7. Before you adhere it to the card, now is the time to wrap your Bakers Twine around the 2 first full layers and add your button. I also stamped my Birthday Greeting (Black Stazon) at this time.

8. Last step! Adhere it to your card base with dimensionals!

Here is another card I made using the same method.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. Please leave me a comment, I would love to know what you think or if you have any questions about the cards that you see here. All these supplies can be purchased through Stampin' Up!, just press the shopping cart button and happy shopping!

March Break MOJO336

It's March break here in our neck of the woods, (okay, we don't really live in the woods!). Anyway, with March break that means that my kids are home and they need more of my attention and of course I want to give it to them. I am trying to get into my little craft room to bring you something new and exciting, however with the kids and the weather, (which has been great so far, except we are expecting some snow tomorrow though!) it is proving to be more difficult than I thought. However, last night I did manage to get a couple hours of crafting in. Here is what I came up with. It's for Mojo Monday's sketch. Let me know what you think! Thanks for stopping by!
