Pizza Boxes!

Hi everyone! Today I have for you 2 different sizes of Pizza Boxes. One mini and one a little larger, (no, it doesn't hold a regular size pizza!) I have been wanting to make these for a long time. They are just adorable. You can put anything in them. In one, I have 3x3 note cards with envelopes and the other one I wanted something different. I haven't decided yet what that will be, but the possibilities are endless. Maybe some chocolates!

stampin up

The last photo is of the mini Pizza Box with the 3x3 cards that I made to go inside. I didn't want the cards to say 'Happy Birthday' because the box is the gift already wrapped and the cards inside are to be given away.

There are lots of tutorials out there. For the larger one, I found the tutorial on Splitcoaststampers. (I know it says mini, but there is a smaller version out there). However, I can't remember where I found the mini one, probably you-tube.

Stampin' Up! Supplies: (for the larger Pizza Box)

Tea Light Box Tutorial

Hi everyone! What crazy weather we're having! Only here in Southern Ontario (Okay Canada), can you wear sandals one day and the next winter boots! I even know some people who put their air conditioner on yesterday! Now today, it's back to having the furnace going. The joys of Canada~

Where were we!? Oh yah, my Tea Light Box Tutorial! I have had numerous people ask me for directions on how to make it. I am going to try and explain it to you. Not to worry, I have lots of photos! You may just want to go get a coffee, tea, or snack before we start. Don't worry it isn't complicated at all!

Supplies you will need:
1 piece of card stock or paper of your choice measuring 5x7
Scoring tool (either one from your trimmer or Simply Scored Scoring Tool)
Paper snips or scissors
Sticky Strip
Corner Rounder
Scallop Tag Top Punch
Paper Piercing tool
Brad or Ribbon
Bone folder
Pencil

Let's get started!

Step 1.
Place your paper in the horizontal position on your scoring tool and score @ 1, 3, 4

Step 2.
Then in the vertical position and score @ 1/2, 1 1/2, 3 1/2, 4 1/2

Your paper should look like this (I used a black maker so you could see the score lines better)

stampin up

Step 3.

Cut out all the areas that I have blacked out with the black marker. Then cut up to the first score line. It should now look like this. You now want to take your bone folder and fold up all those scored edges.

stampin up

Step 4.
This next step in what Connie Stewart calls mitering. It helps the box close nicely. All you do is take little triangles off of the 4 little square tabs. See photo below.

stampin up

Step 5.
This next step is just taking your corner rounder and rounding the corners of the small rectangular flap. You will see this flap when you open the box. It just looks nice with rounded corners.

Step 6.
Inserting the long piece on the right into your Scallop tag Top Punch.

 stampin up

Step 7.
Now you need to add Sticky Strip to the 4 small tabs. Hopefully you can see it in the photo.

stampin up

Step 8.
Time to assemble the box. It should now look like this.

stampin up

Step 9.
Now just fold the lid over to close the box. To make the last scored edge just fold it over too. I tried scoring it first but the lid didn't shut very well. I found this to be the best way.

Step 10.
Here is where you have a choice of either to put in a brad or to tie ribbon around your box. The choice is yours. I have found that adding the ribbon is much easier, but the brad looks really cute. Close the lid, with a pencil mark where you would like your brad to go. If you make the hole too close to the scallop then it is too hard to close. You might want to experiment on a piece of scrap paper first before you poke a hole in your box. I really hope this makes sense!

stampin up

You want to have the brad stick out a little so it catches the scallop. See photo below. I put a small piece of tape behind the brad to hold it out.

stampin up

Now the really fun part. Embellish the way you want! Here is one I made using a ribbon. I think it is just as pretty!

Wedding Shower 'Thank You' cards

This past Sunday our church had a wedding shower for our youth pastor. We gave money towards a really big gift, but then I had a thought, I should make them 'Thank You' cards! Since they are both really young I knew Gorgeous Grunge would be the prefect base stamp set. Then I chose the rose from the Simple Stems set, to make it a bit feminine. Their colours are navy blue and silver (same as mine were!) Here is what I came up with. I really liked them. I hope they did too!

This is how I packaged them. I know, not very exciting. Wish my mom was around, she was a professional gift wrapper.

Baskets!

Happy Saturday everyone! (well it's Saturday here!) The other day my friend Hallie over at Hand Made By Hallie made this really cute strawberry basket. (Be sure to stop by her blog and have a look! She always makes really great stuff!) I wanted to make something like that too! However, I just couldn't make those little strawberries like she did, so I came up with something else.

I found a really cute picnic basket that I wanted to make. The instructions on Pinterest were way too small for what I had in mind, plus it had only one handle and a lid. So, like everything else, I modified it to suit my needs. It holds 5, 3x3 note cards with matching envelopes.

Isn't it just the cutest little picnic basket!? When you give away all the little note cards you can put anything in it. Eggs for Easter, little presents at Christmas, hearts for Valentine's Day. I could go on and on!

I want to give you a chance to have this. The first person to place a Stampin' Up! order worth $100, through me (Canadian only) will receive this. Thanks for stopping by!

Paper Roses

I am so excited for you to be here with me today! It's all about paper roses and what to put them on!

It all started by me wanting to learn how to make paper roses like everyone else. As it turned out, it is a lot easier than I thought! Wonderful you-tube videos out there explaining everything for you.

Then, I saw this really cute box on Pinterest. I knew they would be prefect for my paper roses. I was on a mission to make this box, however I searched high and low looking for a tutorial on how to make it. No such luck! So, I figured it out on my own! I think they are the cutest little boxes! They hold one tea light per box. I thought you could use them for 'wedding favors', a little 'Thank you' gift. You could put whatever you want inside. They are 2x2 square with a depth of 1 inch.

Birthday

Today I thought I would get right to the point! I have a 'Birthday' card for you. You could of course change the sentiment to suit your needs. I promise tomorrow I won't be using 'Simple Stems'!

Best Wishes

Good day to all! The rain has finally stopped here and I think the sun just might make an appearance. However, the rain gave me more time to spend crafting!

Today I have for you a card using once again the "Simple Stems" stamp set. I absolutely love it! This one doesn't look at all like yesterday's card. I hope you can see how versatile this stamp set can be. Enjoy!

You can't tell from the photo, but I used Very Vanilla instead of Whisper White. It has a very Victorian feel to it I think. Maybe that is why I like it so much!

Simple Stems

How is everyone on this grey Monday? Yesterday was so bright and beautiful, not so much today! I guess that means I should be in my craftroom making cards for you, right!? I will be heading there hopefully this afternoon.

Today I have for you a pretty Spring card, well it reminds me of Spring! I can't wait for everything to be in bloom again. I love all the seasons, but I think I like the beginning of Spring the most. Anyway, back to my card! The stamp set that I used was one of the new ones that I just received. I really like the flowers, you can do so much with them. I also used the starburst framelits for the first time.
